A 15th century soldier’s standard often worn with a maille shirt or brigandine . Our plackard is constructed from 16 gauge mild steel and has three fauld lames and one piece detachable tasset . Faulds are slot rivet articulated and all borders are hand rolled and countersunk. Edges of articulating plates are beveled for better shedding of blows. The main plate is of lightly potbellied form with a medial ridge. Comes fully strapped. Can be combined with our breast and back plate to create a two piece look that was popular in the 15th century. Suitable for use in late 14th and 15th centuries. Also avaliable as an option are three piece tassets based on a set in the military museum in Paris from a composed armour made up of pieces from Rhodes( provided for us by our custoemr Rahpael Nicolle) that are suitable for late 15th and 16th century use. As seen on the cover art by Nathan Greene for "Pilgrims Pride II". HAND MADE IN THE USA.
These can be made in steel finish ( steel rivets and buckles rather than brass) at no extra charge, just specify when ordering.
