These small guards are shown in a few period illustrations. The purpose seems to have been to increase the protection of finger gauntlets by covering the backs of the fingers in a large plate but still allowing the fingers to move independently. Made from 16 gauge mild steel our finger shields have hand rolled and counter sunk borders for strength, are slightly dommed and come to a small peak in the center. They are lined with leather which has been stuffed to form a pad for the knuckles. Appropriate for 14-15th century use. These will fit any of our fingered gauntlet and if you own gauntlets from another maker we can adjust the palm strap to fit them as well. Price shown is for the pair. HAND MADE IN THE USA.
We now offer heat blueing on this item.
