Munions were typically made as a unit with an almain collar but were sometimes made as a seperate assembley that buckled to a gorget. An example of this type assembley is the suit on page 26 from the text "Imperial Austria, Treasures of Art Arms and Armor from the State of Styria" for an infantry or cavalry officers harness c. 1560. Our munions are based off the original in our gallery and are made from 16 gauge steel with hand rolled and counter sunk borders and beveled exposed edges where appropriate. They come fully strapped and we can set eyelets for attaching besagues if desired. Suitable for 16th and 17th century use. MADE IN THE USA. Also avaliable with ropped borders which became fashionable in the 16th century.
