Our breast and back plates are constructed from 16 gauge mild steel throughout. The breast plate has a strong medial ridge and slight flaring at the neck and arms as well as hand rolled and sunken bordering. The backplate is slightly dished for the shoulder blades. Can be worn with our plackard over it to create the two piece breast plate look that was popular with Milanese/Italian harness in the 15th century. Comes fully strapped. Gussetts can be added to the breast plate as an option. Suitable for the 14th through 17th centuries. The breast plate is avaliable as a stand alone piece and comes strapped accordingly. As seen on the cover art by Nathan Greene for "Pilgrims Progress II". HAND MADE IN THE USA.
These can be made in steel finish ( steel rivets and buckles rather than brass) at no extra charge, just specify when ordering. Also avaliable with roped borders, and a stright neckline that came into fashion in the 16th century.
