Italian Rapier c.1715-1750



This rapier was made for an officer of the guard of the Doge(duke) of Venice Between 1715 and 1750. The hilt is of cut steel with the quillions terminating in stylized acorns and the pommel cut to look like pleated cloth. The tang is nutted and piened throught the hilt.
