17th Century Breastplate



This is a pic of the somewhat unusual shape of the peascoding on this breast plate. Peascoding is usually achieved by pulling the waistline down over a stake so that the medial ridge is a straight line in profile. On this example the shape seems to have been pushed out somwewhat from the inside giving the peascod a pronounced outward curve.
