Lamellar Plates

These five lamellar plates come from the Middle Eastern helmet shown. It was found in the Jezreel Valley (which means armaggedon) in Palestine in 1918 and according to the Cairo museum dates between the 11th and 15th centuries. The helmet is completely of lamellar construction with the exception of its maille ventail. We'd like to thank Phillip Norris from whom we got the scales for providing us with pictures and a history of the helmet from which they came.
